The delivery of high-quality healthcare has been the cornerstone of the NOVA (formerly VON) nurses' mandate for over 110 years. At NOVA West Island, experienced, caring, and dedicated professional staff and volunteers work together to improve the quality of life for vulnerable adults, youth and families in 16 municipalities: Baie d'Urfé, Beaconsfield, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Dorval, Île Bizard, Île Perrot, Kirkland, Lachine, Pierrefonds, Pincourt, Pointe-Claire, Roxboro, Senneville, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Ste-Geneviève and Terrasse-Vaudreuil.

Our mission is to address the unmet needs of communities through the development and delivery of professional, innovative health services.

Last year, our non-profit organization cared for 646 vulnerable people on the West Island of Montreal through one or more of our programs.  This does not include the enormous positive impact we have on caregivers, the public healthcare system and the community at large.  Please refer to our annual statistics to ascertain how our human resources and your donations are being used, as well as our President and Executive Director reports for an overview of all our accomplishments in 2020-2021.

NOVA West Island offers a range of services free of charge or at low cost through the financial support of individuals, foundations, corporations, municipalities, community groups and through Fundraising activities. Our programs include:

  • Palliative Home Nursing Care (cancer/ALS)

  • Bereavement Support for adults and children

  • Adult Day Centers for adults with cognitive deficits

  • Home Support

  • Support groups for caregivers (ALS and Alzheimer)
