Help NOVA West Island one bracelet at a time!
Ongoing since September 2020
OM Wellness has become one of our major donors thanks to their diverse initiative and concern for the well-being of people in the community. Visit their stores to discover their wonders, including the three NOVA bracelets. For each of these bracelets sold, they will donate $10 to us. In addition, if you bring your reusable bags, for every bag used or OM bag purchased, they will donate $0.25 to NOVA. Namaste!

A reinvented Art Exposition!
June 1, 2021
The Lakeshore Artists Association has been supporting our cause for the past 32 years through annual art exhibitions. Well, they’ve done it again throughout the month of May by hosting a virtual art exposition with over 45 participating members. The success of this event went above and beyond our collective expectations selling 64 pieces of art and raising over $6,250 for NOVA West Island. Keep on encouraging our local artists!

Thank you to our volunteers!
April 19, 2021
On Monday April 19, it was a pleasure to see over sixty volunteers come by the Harpell Center in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue to pick up their gift (salt lamps) generously donated by OM Wellness, in recognition of the light they bring into our clients’ lives. Sunshine and Karma were definitely with us ;-) We hope it will illuminate their lives because without their support we could not offer all of our compassionate care to the community. Our volunteers are very important to us so please stay safe and healthy until we see you again!

Help NOVA Spring Back into aUction!
March 31, 2021
Thank you for your participation in our first on-line auction from March 20th to the 29th and for contributing to NOVA’s success story! We raised a total of $12,285, had 117 final bidders not to mention all the other people who placed bids, visited our event and learned more about our programs and services! We are lucky to count you as NOVA ambassadors and please know that we do not take your support for granted and that the monies raised will help us care for our community.

Locals Supporting Locals
March 13, 2021
A huge THANK YOU to Charity Promotions and Trentadue Entertainment for hosting this community fundraiser on March 13. Take-out from 17 restaurants and pubs, online comedy, paint gallon sales and other donations raised over $8,000 for 16 charities. Restaurants and pubs saw an increase in sales, which raised more money for your neighborhood charity, including NOVA West Island. This success is proof that if we all pull together, we can make a difference. Thanks Ken and everyone involved!

BEAU Christmas Market - What a success!
December 5, 2020
The BEAU Christmas Market held in support of NOVA West Island in Beaurepaire village on December 5th was a huge success and went above and beyond all expectations. As Dominique Godin, Beaconsfield city councillor, co-organizer and director on our board said: “The highlights of the day were people having a chance to see others outside by chance, seeing people walk home with locally made/crafted goodies from the village market, being able to put Nova on center stage, bringing a little Christmas joy to the neighbourhood…without mentioning that in terms of numbers, there were 600+ pies sold, 14 local vendors and over 30 volunteers on site."

A Cool Golf Event
October 8, 2020
Thank you to Bill Mitchell of Palos Wealth Management and Shep Abbey of Abbey & Olivier Real Estate Agency who sponsored a golf shootout event to raise more funds for us in these uncertain times. The success of our event went above and beyond our expectations with 60 golfers on site (with a waiting list) and a net gain of $14,600 (and counting) for NOVA! Speaking of numbers, the team handicaps varied from 5 to 14, the net scores ranged from 58 to 71 and the weather fluctuated from 4 to 10. A good time was had by all and virtually all participants said they hope to be invited next year. Thank you on behalf of NOVA West Island clients, families, staff, volunteers and Board of Directors! Keep on golfing and we will keep on caring!

A message from a NOVA front line nurse - Ça va bien aller!
May 1, 2020

Montreal Canadiens Alumni Benefit Hockey Game a Huge Success
January 31, 2020
Take superstar Canadiens players from the past. Pack a local arena with appreciative fans and you have the makings of a great event! And NOVA West Island was the beneficiary of the evening. Players like Guy Carbonneau, Patrice Brisebois, Stephane Richer, Sergio Momesso and Gaston Gingras played a team of NOVA All-Stars at the Bob-Birnie Arena in Pointe-Claire with coaching by Chris Nilan and Rick Green. With low ticket prices ($10), a silent auction and a raffle, the event was a huge success netting over $22,000 for NOVA West Island. We'd like to thank everyone who worked with us to organize this great event. We'd also like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and especially the Canadiens Alumni!
