SUPPORT GROUP FOR ALS CAREGIVERS
NOVA West Island can help and support people with ALS-Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) through our home nursing palliative care program. This translates into ongoing assessments by our nurses, referrals and liaisons with various partners, assistance in navigating the healthcare system, nursing support and care at the end of life, home support by a health aide and volunteer visits offering companionship and support for adults who have to deal with loss, change and bereavement.
To assist caregivers, our nurses have developed a support group with the help of the ALS Society of Quebec in collaboration with the Tony Proudfoot Fund.
Due to COVID-19, these meetings are currently on hold until further notice.
Usually, they are offered every first Monday of each month from 6 pm to 8 pm at the NOVA office.
In order to participate you must register with Leslie Mitchell at ext. 205.
