VOLUNTEER
NOVA West Island is a volunteer-driven organization. Without their commitment our services would not exist. That's why we are proud to count on more than 200 active volunteers in our different programs.
If you wish to be part of our big family and make a difference in our community, here is an overview of the different opportunities:
-
Palliative care at home: Visit people living with cancer or ALS in their homes to ensure friendly contact and provide respite for caregivers. Time required: depending on volunteer availabilities and client needs. Training is offered.
-
Transportation: Drive people living with cancer or in palliative stage to their treatments and medical appointments in the Montreal hospitals. Time required: according to volunteer availabilities. Reimbursement of fuel costs.
-
Adult Day Centers: Assist the coordinator during day activities, prepare dinner or entertain guests with music/songs. Time required: Once a week or once a month for cooks or musicians.
-
NOVA Activities: Help us by volunteering at our annual Fundraising events, community events or third-party events. Please contact Louise Boissonneault at ext. 212.
-
Thrift Shops for NOVA: These stores are operated by volunteers under the name of "Ste-Anne Volunteer Health Support Foundation". They play an essential role in the daily operation of their 5 stores and their tasks vary. For more information on becoming a volunteer, you can contact them at 514-457-1642 or by email at novahelpwanted@gmail.com
